ВІДЛУННЯ / ECHO — sexnesc

The key to understanding this work lies in the thought that when a person dies, the entire universe inside them dies with them. It dies alone, cold, and somehow cruelly indifferent. Its echo (Відлуння in Ukrainian) keeps making itself felt for years, then disappears forever.
This lyric video is a look into that world.

The camera remains still in every scene. The idea is to convey the bluntness and detachment of the moment. As if trail cameras were still recording reality, even though no one would ever watch the footage.

While making this video, I became fascinated by old silent films, particularly Earth by the Ukrainian director Oleksandr Dovzhenko. An absolute visual masterpiece with frames like paintings, it was originally conceived by its director as a "sound film." It became my main source of inspiration for this project, and silent cinema’s convention of presenting dialogue through intertitles fits perfectly with the lyric video format.

This is my first major work made using AI video generation. I drew every shot by hand as a simple sketch, then used AI generation to turn it into a photorealistic scene.

"I’ll become your echo, a sudden pain in your chest."
