SNAPCHAT LENS
Inspired by the teasers of Bring Me The Horizon's new music video, we decided to create a Snapchat lens for this musical work. The project development started a week and a half before the song's release day, so all the information we had about the visual narrative was limited to a few screenshots and videos from the upcoming video. It was clear that the events would unfold in a hospital, and the key phrase was: «Stupid medicine, not doin' anything». We always wanted to do something in the "chrometype" style, and considering the lead singer of BMTH Oliver Sykes' passion for this style, we decided that the time had come. The "LOST" mask went through several iterations before we were satisfied with its visual appearance and the legibility of the song title. For the front-facing part of the lens, we added pills that fly around the user, created using the VFX Particle System in Lens Studio. As for the rear camera view, we also wanted to do something interesting: in the same style, we designed the BMTH logo-star, added falling pills from the front-facing part of the lens, and created a green liquid material that emulates the scene from the video screenshots. The shader created for the mask and star deserves special attention: it features various noise maps with different intensity levels of color channel vectors, creating chromatic aberrations and a simulated green crystal effect. After several posts in fan communities of the band (for which we are very grateful), the lens managed to reach over 1000+ active users in the first days of the song's release - we are satisfied with this result. If you want to try this mask yourself, go to the selected stories on our page and find the group named «LosT». Along with the selected stories, there will be a button with a link to this Snap lens, enjoy!
